Hi all,
I am under the understanding that, in order to get married to a brazilian, I need to hand over a document that states that I am not married.
I am not sure if that is a copy of a municipal register, or on this site (see below) it talks about a declaration oficialised by a nótario (notary/solicitor(?))
https://www.casamentocivil.com.br/casam … -brasilove that I am not married in my native country.
Someone told me this has to be done with 2 witnesses.
Does anybody know more about this?
I have previously been in an união estavel, which ended in January 2013. After that I have been living in Brazil (illegally). Now I am in Europe for 6 months to reenter Brazil legally again. Someone also told me that if I have been living in Brazil I could do a declaration at a cartório there. But I have been illegal, and I´ve been outside the country for 6 months. Would that change the situation?
