IT internship in the USA

Hi everyone,

I'm Canadian and would like to find an IT internship in the USA (Texas or California preferred, but anywhere in the country is ok)

How realistic it is knowing that...
- Got an Associate's Degree in Computer science (programming)
- 3rd year B.B.A. student (majoring in IT management)
- Has 9 months of programming work experience (12 by the time I graduate)
- Bilingual French/English (French is my mother tongue)
- One of my aunts and a few second cousins have been living in the USA for over 20 years

I'm open to intern as IT analyst, programmer, helpdesk, or technical writer.

Just wondering if looking for an internship in the USA is a waste of my time?

Thank you

I doubt it's a waste of time, but I'm sure you know that there are millions of programmers who already live in the US and won't need a work visa.

I don't think there is any help desk work available.  They all seem to be in India and the Philippines.
