Hi
This subject has been posted a number of times but some posts are quite old so wanted a more up to date view point.
I am in the process of interviewing for a job in KL as a Senior Software Test/Project Manager. The company has given me no indication of their salary bracket but instead have asked my expectations. I don't want to go in with a figure that is too low but similarly I do not want to price myself out of the role. I have been trying to evaluate how much I would actually need to live each month based on a decent accomodation for two (with access to swimming pool) somewhere close enough to the city to travel in by train/bus (don't really intend on driving). We don't have children so no expense there. We'd probably eat out a few times a week, but we do like to go out socialising and drinking quite a bit after work/at the weekend although we're not really party people. We would also want to be able to save money for holidays and to cover eventualities with our property back in the UK.
I have been told by an ex colleague that in Singapore I would be looking at a salary of approx 160-200k Singapore dollar and in London I earn a salary of £110k. I would want to maintain the same std of living that I currently have to a certain extent, so does anyone have any suggestions on a comparable salary in MYR? I'm currently estimating that I would need approx 35,000 MYR per month - what are peoples thoughts, does that sound reasonable or am I miles away? any feedback will be appreciated
Regards
Sarah
