You can get work as a foreign worker but the jobs are only in manufacturing, plantation, agriculture, services and construction. The salaries are under RM2k and probably about RM1.5k (salaries are sinking at the moment as employers are not thriving at the moment because of COL).
Otherwise to get a expat work permit (employment pass) the minimum salary is RM5k per month (the average per month among local employees is RM2.5k).
The music industry is dominated by Malays and people from the Philippines. You will need to network to get a job.
