Are there buses or trains that I can take to go from Bogota to Costa Rica? I know I can fly, but it's expensive and trying to save as much money as possible.

forget it.
the border between Panama and Colombia is closed and has some FARC (rebels) in the woods of the border.
This is the only place where the road PANAMERICAN is closed.
Try if they are boats from Costa rica to Colombia, i.e. to Cartagena.
