Surname on the passport

Hi Guys,

I'm marrying a Latvian girl and as a consequence she will take my surname "Gatti", but by Latvian laws this will be "adjusted" to their standards, "Gati" and the original will appear as a comment on another page of the passport.

For a detailed description see here:

Now, why the Australian forum?
Well, we booked a flight to Sydney and we did it with my original surname "Gatti". Assuming that we won't have any problems with the check-in and at the gate, what will be with the VISA? We'll have to apply for it and I guess it must have the same surname as per the flight ticket.
Will we have problems with it?

Hopefully my issue is clear!

Thanks in advance,
Federico

I suggest getting a written explanation from the Latvian authorities, also check with the Australian consulate in Frankfurt, you dont want to be put on the next flight back,,,,,,,,,,,,big waste of time
