PR vs US Notary Question

I hope someone can help me out with this one.

I am aware that only lawyers can do notarizations here.  However, I noticed their stamps are not "raised" like how the US are.  If I get some documents notarized here & mailed back to the US, will the US court system still honor them despite the missing raised seal?

Thanks, any info will help.

Hi, Abattig:

The documents should be accepted as certified originals so long as the ink used in the notarization (in the stamp or the notary's signature) is clearly original in appearance (as opposed to a photocopy). A lot of notaries in the States have gone away from the raised seal and just use stamps now as well. You should not have any problems. I never did.

Thank you very much for the info.
