Buying property in Ireland

Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Ireland?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Ireland?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Christine

Hi Christine,
it may depend on wether the person would have right of residency, for instance if they were native of another E.U. country,or one or both parents are Irish citizens in which case they would have the right to buy property and live here. i think your best bet is to contact the ministry for immigration in Dublin, the contact details should be available on-line, and they should be able to give the information you need or tell you who else you need to contact. If ican find out more for you ill send you a message. also a good property website is Daft.ie, check it out, there may be more information on there about buying in Ireland by non E.U./ citizens. Best of luck with it anyway.:)

You'll be fine if you're a cash buyer, allsop auctions have distressed auctions every few months.
