Medellin for a non-party girl

Hello! I'm thinking of staying in Medellin for a a couple of months or so. when I research there seems to be a lot about partying ……. I am not a party girl. I like meeting people, art (making it & looking at it) outdoors life, culture, good food, a glass or 2 of nice wine…... I like a quiet but rich life…….

Any recommendations on how to find that in Medellin, if it exists?

Also looking for a furnished sunny apparement with an outside space.

Thank you for your thoughts & ideas.

It may be hard to find what you want, if you hang out only with expats - as your research has shown you, many if not most are interested in partying more than culture.

If your Spanish is good you are better poised to connect with natives who share your interests.  Even just offering to help someone better their English in return for Spanish help, along with cultural activities, may help you find people.

Among the natives are many educated people who have cultural interests outside of just partying, although everyone loves a good party, certainly most Colombians do...

This Facebook group, Cultura Medellín, is private but you may be able to join them just by asking:

Here is a public group that lists cultural events:

Here is a page of the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín dedicated to cultural events:

@anikkurkjian Dont spend 2 months in Medellin. Go 2 weeks you see it all.

If you want a quieter , cheaper,  outddoor life, come to te Eje Cafetero

There are several organizations that do "caminata" (hikes) in and around Medellín on weekends, several are just awesome.

Two that come to mind are (Google them):

"La Ruta Outdoor"

"Huella Verde"

There are several others.

Best of Luck

PS: OsageArcher is right, if you can understand and speak a bit of Spanish it will open thousands of doors for you! ==> Hence possibly use the opportunity to take Spanish classes to learn or improve your Spanish (and there a several Language Exchange Groups where you can meet Colombian eager to practice their English while you practice your Spanish, Google them too).

Best of Luck Again!!!
