Hi - my husband and I are planning on visiting Thailand in January thru April. We have never been in Thailand, but it looks so lovely compared to Maine in the winter. Would like advice on what Island is the best to start our visit.

Hello
There are many places on mainland to
travel as well as the islands.
But Phuket I believe is the largest island
and one of the most touristy. 45 beautiful
beaches. My faves are kata, Koron and
Nai Yang beach. Avoid Patong beach as it
is nearly over run with tourists as you are going
in high season.
Phi Phi Island is maybe the 2nd largest and it
has excellent diving and resorts to stay in.
For day trips Similan Island with the group called
"Fantastic Travel" was an excellent trip. You visit
3 or 4 of the islands of the 9.
Khai islands is a group of 3 islands. They are nice
and about the same par as Raya, Coral and James
Bond island. These are really shorter days trips
with snorkeling and good food.
I have not been to Koh Samui or Lipe or Lanta
They may be the nicest. It really depends on what
activities you are wanting to do.
These are just the islands they are many places
mainland to go

I depends on what you are looking for
From busy beaches with tourists, to beaches where you are just with another few guests
party beach or just relaxing under the coconut
Or you want it all?? One island or different islands??
