A guy was dumped into prison on an interpol red notice when he went to work in Iraq.

It's unfair - it's corrupt - it's an abuse of the system - the prison was inhumane

"All my personal belongings were stripped of me. They took everything from me. Even my wedding ring. The conditions I lived in were vile and there were massive rats swarming the cell.


You can see from the pictures he took, the food looks terribl(ly delicious) and ... hang on ... selfies in prison. They let him keep his phone - I thought he claimed the guards took everything.

All that for a 4 thousand pound debt that was really a 20,000 pound debt when you read through the stories, and that was a runaway from around 2018.


"It's so unfair", scream the family, but we kept the cash he borrowed and never paid back (Theft?)

It appears, according to an old linkedin page I found, he was a Shutdown Coordinator  for Maersk Oil, Qatar, so I googled likely salary numbers - it's a lot more than the loan.


The upshot is, if you bugger off with stolen cash, don't get upset if they catch you.
