Any flights from Guayaquil to Salinas

Hello, all!

My sister and I are planning travel to Punta Blanca next year.

We will be arriving into Guayaquil airport and were wondering if there are any regional flights between Guayaquil and Salinas, or anywhere close to Punta Blanca.

We prefer not to drive and I have looked up Aeropuerto General Ulpiano Paez but it does not list any flights at all....

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!

@Evesdrop hi there - as far as I know, they closed that airport to commercial flights a few years back now.

@EvesdropakeTo my knowledge there are not any flights.  There are, however, drivers who you hire to take you.

hi,

i live in salinas  and no there is no airlines that come here but if you wanted to charter a plane they can land here the airport is open just no planes lol

Unless you've got money to burn,

the overland drivers are a better bet

than chartering a plane.

@wicalroger Nice, good response!

@wicalroger

thank you for the info!

The trip is being planned so we can go pay property taxes on a lot my mom owns (she's unable to travel). Since you live in the area, do you happen to know if there is a way to take care of this online???

I don't think we'll have much time there and would rather not spend it at the municipio in Santa Elena if we can avoid it.

Thanks again!!!

Thank you all for the information; I guess we'll have to find a driver…

Once in Salinas/Punta Blanca is there anywhere to rent a car for local use?

Probably, but save yourself three headaches by

using taxis, Uber or Uber clones, and

car-with-driver combinations....

(1) The higher cost of rental cars.

(2) Figuring out how to navigate in a foreign country

where English is not widely spoken.

(3) The legal and financial exposure of operating

a vehicle in areas where road signs are considered

more a suggestion than a legal requirement.

Just a warning, you will be spending most of the day in the municipio.

No car hire places like you are used to. You may find someone who hires out there car. But honestly, just pay for taxis, or hire a driver for the day, it will be cheaper and less frustrating.

Good luck

Ecuador is such a beautiful country fly to Guayaquil or Quinta.   They are the only two spots to fly directly to from USA as far as I know.   The point is drive from where you arrive. You will get to know the country.

I do not agree.

Intercity roads in some places, especially near Cuenca,

have been badly compromised or temporarily blocked off

due to landslides that have made passage impossible.

The availability of flights from the international

airports should be researched and considered.

Ecuador's capital and center of its largest metropolitan

area is Quito, not Quinta.
