Hello everyone! My name is Johann, I'm a 25yo French man and got offered a permanent job in Auckland/

I am supposed to move there in one month. The job is located in Newmarket so I was looking where would be a nice place to live. I am looking for a suburb between city center and Newmarket and found that Mount Eden seemed like a nice compromise.

Since it is not easy to see from a map, I would like to ask you if it is a good choice, and what you guys think about Mount Eden, what kind of neighborhood it is, and if it is not too problematic to live there without a car.

Hi there, I am from Newmarket, if you're working in Newmarket then, Mt Eden, Epsom, Newmarket or Remuera will be more than suitable if you're wanting to travel on public transport. None of these areas are far away, perhaps get yourself a good pushbike.
