Well, there are job opportunities in the oil sector and maritime sector for foreigners. It all depends on your qualification. The telecom industry is booming in Nigeria, lots of opportunity to get a well-paid job. Abuja is the place, though abit expensive compared to Lagos.

There are many Nigerian job sites out there. Can't post link here but you can simply Google Nigeria jobs.
As for security you need to very vigilant. Most expats live in Lagos and Abuja.
