Help me get a USA Green Card

I am new on this and just registered after ready your topics. I am a male in early thirties. I own 2 business where i am the managing director of them. The companies are very successful. However, i have the urge to move to the United States of America. I have been travelling to the USA every year since 2003. But i travel using a visa due to a criminal record. When i was 19 yrs old - i stole some toiletries from where i used to work. I got caught and was given a £350 fine in court.

This is the only record i have with the police and have not been in trouble with them since then. I applied for a visa at London and got it. The visa was only a 1 year one. I had to apply nearly every year but they did extend it to 3 years back in december.

I want to permanently move to USA. Would this Criminal record affect it??

Also, whats the best mothod of me to get into USA to live there???

Will i have to apply for a visa every time??

Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks

Harry

Hi Harry,

I understand your problem because I hear them everyday.  There are several ways you can live in USA permanetly.  From the sound of your personal descriptions I suggest going the EB-5 visa because that is the fastest for people with money and have business sense.  However, there are other ways such as hb employer sponsor visas or marry a US citizen or have relatives in US to sponsor you.  By the way which state or place are you planning to stay in US?

Hi Houstontex, Well i wanna move o either Florida or California. Opening a business could be a problem as we do in specialised products which do not suit amercian market - only british - so employment visa would not work. I have relatives - however - they are cousins and not immediate family. So - i think the only way i would get a green card i marry a US Citizen or find a job. Or win the lottery!!! - Any surgestions??

Harry,
I am a US immigration lawyer and I suggest that you consider an L visa which requires that you open an office in the USA for your company.  This US company does not have to do the same type of business as your company abroad.  Once you obtain an L visa, then you can file for a green card through your own business.  It is a sure way to a green card for a business person.  I have been very successful with the L visa.  Let me know if you want me to email you the L visa requirements.

I have just sent you a quick email Eliz

'lawyer eliz' I want to ask you if there is a way to get the i-134 form to complete my diversity visa procedures because I have been selected in the DV lottery and I was told at the embassy that I need that form to get my visa !

i have not gotten a clear answer, but i presume i cannot move to USA unless a business visaor marry a US citizen.Tough luck for me.

be careful about a 'fake' marriage.. Immigration service doesn't like it!

For those that seem to ask over and over where they can get a signed I-134 as a requirement to your diversity visa, let me tell u it is NOT just a paper it is a legal affidavit and the person who signs it agrees to provide all financial, and physical support for you including food and a place to live for 10 years in the event that you get to the US and get sick or don't find work. This is to guarantee that you won't end up on government assistantance. The person who signs is making a big commitment. You may not think you will need anyone to support you but the government has to have a guarantee  of this.  You do not need this form only if you have been offered a job or you have enough money in the bank in your home country to cover your needs or relatives in your home country agree to support you.  In the US you may find a Church or Mosque willing to fill out the form if you promise to help them when you arrive. Or there may be a group of expats from your county who may be willing to sign but no one who does not know you is going to sign. If they signed and you came to the US and committed a crime they would be responsible, if you hd no job or got sick they would have to pay all your bills this is too much of a risk. Sorry.  My friends church sponsored her  and it worked out well for both of them. Good luck

Hi folks i regret to say that every since 9/11 the visa process became a complicated puzzle for whoever wants to visit the country so it won't be easy.
