Telecommunications in Slovenia

Hello dear Members,

Can you please list some of the main Internet Service providers in Slovenia? You may also include the cost related to their Internet subscription.

Another issue related to the telecommunication topic, is mobile plans. Can you please share with us:
>With which operator are you subscribed to?
>How are you finding their services?
>What kind of facilities do they offer?

Lastly, what is the best option according to you to make long distance calls in Slovenia?

Your views/suggestions will be highly valued.

Wish you all a great day & thanks you in advance for your participation.

I don't know much about internet providers. My landlord already had a contract with telemach and I am happy with this, as technical support speak English. I pay about 35eu for internet and cable TV.

Si.Mobil in Mobitel they wanted Slovenian person to sign contract with me, even thought I had my working contract for 3 years.
I have orto nulo plan
>How are you finding their services?
I am quite happy with orto nulo plan for young people. It is only 10 eu for month.
>What kind of facilities do they offer?
More about that here:

Long distance call - if you mean international they have nice international tariff within EU and balcan countries.

Thanks for helping Nonka!

It is much appreciated ;)

From a native:

2 biggest Mobile phone operators in Slovenia (click on the name to view web site in english version):
* Mobitel
* Simobil

Of course there are also other like:
* TUŠ Mobil (TUŠ is pronounced like TOOSHie without the ie) :D
* DebiTel
* Izi mobil
but I'd rather go with the first two mentioned (Mobitel or Simobil).

For more than 10 years I've been subscribed to Mobitel and I'm quite pleased with them.

About Internet Service Providers - usually people take special packages that include Cabel TV, Internet and a fixed phone, because they are cheaper, than just having Internet.
Prices of packages depend on how many TV channels you want to have, the speed of internet etc.)

Main Internet Service Providers in Slovenia are:

* Siol - http://www.siol.net/storitve.aspx (web site only in Slovene)
Packages (Cabel TV, Internet and fixed phone) are from 45€ to even 123€ monthly!
While subscribing just to Internet will cost you 26€/month up depending on the speed (from 2Mb / 384kbit/s)

* Telemach (UPC) - http://www.telemach.si/sl/zasebni-uporabniki/internet (web site only in Slovene)
if you're looking just for Cabel Internet you can get it from 1024/512 Kbit/s on for just 15€/month
Packages (that usually include Cabel tv with min. of 98 channels, min. 60 radio channels, basic digital receiver, Internet at speed 256kbps / 64kbps and free calls inside of Telemach network)cost from 29,50 per month (depending on how many channels you want to have, the speed of internet etc.)

* Amis - http://www.amis.net/web3/zasebni-uporab … a-paketov/ (web site only in Slovene)
there's a special offer now for 3 different packages (with Tv,fixed phone, internet etc.) for 11€/month (for the first 6 months, after that the prices range between 40€ to 58€)
Just Internet: speed 1024/256 kbps for 17,27€ to 4096/768 kbps for 23,27€ (that's just for Ljubljana)

* T-2 - the only provider that has an english version of their site: http://english.t-2.net/ (alelujah!)

Last but not least about long distance calls - I reckon it's best to do them with Skype.

Hope the information is sufficient enough :)
