Should we accept the Offer

I am from India.I am working as a Technical Laed ( Having 6+ Years experience in TIBCO).I got job offer from  a Telecom Company in KL as a  TIBCO Solution Architect.

I have few questions.

We r family of 2. Me & Wife with no kids but plan in near future.

I got offer of 9000 RM(This is the basic per month),with 500RM per month as Travel allowance. They are also giving Complete Health Cover to me and my depedent.

pls let me know the Tax deduction on this.i have read in net as initial 26% tax for foreigners??? is that true? after 6 months what is the Tax rate for 9000 salary Ringgits salary?(However they have said that they would also give an Increment after 6 months of probation)

My office is at Jalan Sultan Ismail. What are the areas near it for acoomdation and there prices. We would need 1 bedroom codon.

In india we are getting 52000INR is a takehome Salary.

Please suggest Is this offer OK as per my Experince and also the living conditions in KL to have a decent living .can we accept the malaysia offer??? ...Pls reply ASAP.....

Hi Prasun,

The offer is look good.

Final acceptance is depend on you,,

Thing need to consider,, accomodation for one bed room fully furnish condo is range from RM1.8K to RM2.5K, depending on area.

On tax,, 26% is the maximum tax deduction,,based on taxable net income,,not from your gross salary. if you have more kid ,,more deduction,,

Besides local indian,,there is a lot expat indian living,,here,,a lot of indian food available here.

Re: Should we accept the Offer

Hi Prasun,

The average monthly deduction for your tax post 6 months should be around MYR1200.00 (depending on other taxable allowances this value may increase/decrease).

You should have a net income of at least MYR7300.00 after all deductions.

A good move from career and pay perspective.

Hi Prasun,

9000RM even after taxes deduction is a good salary here.

For the accomodation I advise you to have a look on these two website : propwall and iproperty. They are specialised for malaysian market and on iproperty you can get a search by area, price, number of room,... It could gets you a good idea about what you could find and for what price.

Re: Should we accept the Offer

Hi Alexandra & SMV,

I am from India and got an offer from an IT company in KL, Mid Valley at around 7k.
I would be thankfull if you could suggest whether this is good offer for me, wife & 1 kid.
Will it be sufficient enough for the 3 of us to live a good life in KL and provide decent education to my kid (hez 4 yrs) and also save a bit for the rainy days.

Thanks in advance smile

Hi primary fees are around 15k per annum for somewhere decentish so say 1500 per term Inc extras. After rent, taxes, travel to work/school/medical I doubt you will save much. 7k is only average in KL. A diploma holder locally earns 6k say doing tuition (plus some cash in hand) - locals I stress. I know as just interviewed some. 7k is low for a family. 9.5 k for a single ok but not a princely sum either for a professional.
