From Melbourne to Mexico!

Hi guys,

I'm a Melbourne local who hopes to make the move to Mexico! I'm new to this site, not really sure how things work but I'm hoping to generate a circle of friends from all over the globe who are happy to share stories and advice about their experiences with travel and moving overseas. I'd also like to make friends with those who might be on the same journey as myself.

Hope to hear from some of you lovely people soon!

Cheers,

Jackie

Re: From Melbourne to Mexico!

Hi Jackie,

if I was in your shoes I'd stay in the beautiful world of down under! In recent views of world events concerning Mexico, crime against humanity is on the rise to the place where you want to visit or planning to reside in. I'm from San Diego and an avid surfer. Back in the 80's or early 90's Mexico is place to be, being able to drive in the border in less than 20 minutes it's a real jolt! food are so exotic as the country itself and it's real cheap as well! For a dollar a person the taxi cabs are almost the sure bet to get around downtown but be aware of the the extra charge when you reach your destination. Hotels are cheaper due to the plunging peso devaluation, great deals on tours being offered. Try their local beer I would suggest Tecate or dos Equiz. Check the american consulate advisory concerning visits to mexico. Just to let you know that I love Australia and would love to reside there soon. Been to Perth, fremantle,Darwin, and sydney great people, great Midi or swan, and beautiful women! you folks got it going! Have a nice day Mate!!

Re: From Melbourne to Mexico!

Boyet, I agreee that here in Australia we have a pretty sweet deal but I have had enough and need a change and after travelling to Mexico I fell in love with the country!!

As I'm under 30 I still have many oportunities to work overseas and I really want to take advantage of the working visa, I not only want to work in Mexico but all over the world! I'm even considering taking the path of a vagabonder. I really appreciate the advice smile

Hi Jackie!

How's it going?  I was happy to see your post- its seems we have a lot in common!  I am from Melbourne too and recently lived in Mexico (Mexico city). What are you looking at doing there? Studying? Volunteering?  Also- which parts of the country interest you?

I would be happy to help with any info you need.  I had a great time and would love to go back in the future.

Josie

Re: From Melbourne to Mexico!

Hey Josie,

I'm well and you? I'm not yet clear on what I want to do as far as work goes and again with the location, I only spent 2 weeks in Mexico and stayed in central Mexico. I would like to see the west coast of Mexico as I love the water so the ida of working at a resort appeals to me, however I was initially looking at teaching English but I have a friend from Mexico who said the pay is not the greatest! Of course that is only one opinion so I am very open to what options I have at this stage.

I have the travel bug so I'd really like to go places between working overseas. What work were you doing during your stay in Mexico? Are you originally from Melbourne?

If you'd like to catch up for a beer and talk Mexico inbox me smile

Cheers,

Jackie

Welcome Mexico…
Several cities throughout Mexico are popular tourist destinations for U.S. people. Rocky Point is an ideal destination. Best place to visit in Mexico are Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Sandy Beach, Rocky Point etc. suppose you are looking for an activity filled beach holiday then visit things to do in Mexico
