Re: Renting a flat in (Rangsit Center)

hi there,
i study in thammasat university. and you can get rooms starting at 5000 only. there are apartments cheaper than that but it would be at the expense of convenience in the distance to the uni and no shops around.
to rent a room, you'll need advance payments for three months.
there are many apartments, so you may want to have a look before renting one because you'll have to sign a lease of min. 1 yr

actually, you can contact thammasat university for dormitory.
its like this. in thammasat uni, there are 2 types of accommodation. 1st is the universities accommo. apartments which are a lot cheaper, better, safer and in a better environment. but there are rules and discipline like no alcohol, no girls, and its close from mid night to 5 am.. so, if u like to party, or hook up, or wanna stay with ur gf, etc u cant stay here.
otherwise it a real good place to stay, i use to stay inside. i loved it. to stay here, you have to contact the uni. you'll be patched up with a random roommate. water heater, free wifi(not in ur room but there's a sitting area i the building), free drinking water. well furnished, laundry available in the building. quiet and unpolluted environment.. its a lot better than outside but no bad boy life style, which is the main reason for students to go outside.

2nd type is private. private apartments not owned by uni.its outside of the university but really really close. its expensive. with the convenience all around it. safe, no problem, but not as safe as inside. electricity and water is a little more expensive.. i pay 1000 buck a month for electricity (a/c on almost everynight) if u sleep with fan you bill will be less than 100 baht. no, water heater. no drinking water, wifi 450/month

anything else do let me know .
cheers! hope to c u in the uni!
