No, they are not exactly the same but closely related. Gurame grows bigger and has a better taste than Tilapia. Its more expensive because its growth is a little slower and its more susceptible for diseases.
Most of them are farmed locally. Sometimes next to the restaurant and so very fresh and tasty!
