Crossing the border into Brazil by car.

I'm planning to travel to Brazil in my Paraguayan car.

Information on this subject is really hard to find on the internet, I've found good information on travelling from Argentina to Brazil or information about travelling by car within the Mercosur in general. Luckily the Touring Club has a page with information about travelling abroad by car: http://www.tacpy.com.py/v3/paginas_inte … ;interno=8

My question is; apart from having the right paperwork do I need to get some sort of permission or document from the Brazilian migrations? I ask this because I went to Foz de Iguazu by car (a rental) and apart from getting my passport stamped I don't remember getting or doing any paperwork on the border.

This time I want to go a lot further into Brazil and also stay a bit longer (a few months). I really want to make sure I have everything in order so I don't run into trouble in Brazil.
