New to Florence

(do we expats call this city "Florence" or "Firenza"??)Actually I don't live there yet, I am living in northern Italy in a small town named Maccagno on Lago Maggiore but will be moving on this Thursday, 15.3.2012. I would like to meet other English speakers and want very much to learn Italian!

Re: New to Florence

Well I guess it depends on what language your speaking;) I always say Florence when I'm speaking English and Firenze (not Firenza) when speaking Italian!  Welcome to Florence! Its a beautiful city! Check out my blog for more info at http://doastheflorentines.blogspot.it/

You can also join the woman's group YAWN and meet other English speaking expats in the city. https://www.facebook.com/YoungAngloWomensNetwork?ref=ts

Hope this helps!
