Food in Taipei

I'm currently in Singapore but will be travelling to Taipei -- it will be my second trip there. My first time in Taipei was not very satisfactory because we rushed through the whole place in just 3 days.

Anyway, I would like to ask you Taipei expats and locals alike to share with me the favourite local eats!

Apparently The Sojourn Diaries talked about live prawns as a delicacy in Taipei, and I'm a little freaked out by it. Is this true? Will it be rude if I reject tasting such a dish, during formal business meeting lunches?

Also, what are the foods I should avoid?

Actually any advice on Taipei, particularly on the food, will be great. Thanks!
