Planning on Moving to Cologne

Hi Expats
Im  a Mexican girl that has been living in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the last 5 years. Now Im thinking on moving to Cologne to learn German. Im a freelance translator and it's always better to learn other languages.
It would be very thankful if anyone provides with a general idea of what moving to Cologne takes. I've been to Cologne twice and I love it, but as an Expat I know is not the same being a tourist than moving for  a while.
I would like to know if there are schools where I can take clases, full time maybe. Also if it's easy to find a part time job with a Student visa. When does the school year start over there? And also about sharing apartments, I saw a post but Im wondering how easy is to get to Cologne and find an apartment to share.
Thank you so much for any info that can help me get a better idea.

Cristy
