We are new in Estonia, and expect a family visit on the week of FEB 21st; someone told me the the relevant weekend is the Estonian Independence day and e v e r y t h i n g is closed... I wonder whether it's true? is this also the reason that I already can't find an available room at one of the nice manors...

actually not everything it's closed on Feb 24th ...the big hyper-markets won't be and even some small might be open .
To find a room you should try the many hostels in Tallinn.

Yeah we suck at having holidays ( most stuff are open on all holidays, though just not as long).
