Is it popular to share a flat or a house in the Virgin Islands?

What advice would you give to those looking for shared accommodation in the Virgin Islands?

Can you recommend specialized local websites or newspapers?

I would never reccommend sharing an apt/house with someone I did not know. Best thing would be to come to the VI and meet people first before committing to sharing living arrangements with people you don't know.

Also, remember there are 3 islands here and each has it's own economy, problems, jobs, etc. The island of St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John. Depends on which island you want to move to.

You can search the moving center site for apts, etc and also ask questions on a forum. The people on the forum are very knowledgable and will give anyone a good answer.
