Buying property in Gibraltar

Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Gibraltar?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Gibraltar?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Yes.

No

Go to estate agent.  View property/ies.  Make offer.  Engage solicitor.  Pay money.  Meet to swap deeds.  Receive keys.

No different to anywhere else.  Most properties are flats so it would be wise to find out the community charge for the block as they can run into thousands of pounds annually.

Hi Christine

It's quite easy as Roughseasinthemed said. If you are an EU national you can buy any property in Gibraltar except those which are classfied as affordable local housing and require a 3 year residency requirement, meaning you have to have had to resided in Gib for 3 consecutive years - but that's a minority of the local housing market.   [Moderated]
