A kiwi girl wanting to live in Peru

Hi fellow travellors,

I'd like to know from others experiences how to go about this.  I want to travel and take a spanish language course in Peru.  I'd like to stay there for one year.  Has anyone done this? what do you suggest?

I stayed for 6 months once, but I am aussie born italian spanish guy and already knew spanish fluently. Although I was still seen as a gringo and therefore might be able to help you with some tips about going there.

Re: A kiwi girl wanting to live in Peru

Hello Menace80

I work in the Selva of Ayacucho called Santa Rosa and I will be returning in February 2012. If you like to join me I am a volunteer and I have my own secondary school in Santa Rosa. I will help you to learn Spanish and in the mean time you can teach English to the locals following a well prepared program by the UN. I am presently looking for teachers to take with me for a year. as for the Visa, only a 3 month Visa is usually given but there is a way how we can apply for one year otherwise you will have to go to Cile every three months to renew the visa. p.s for all of you (others) who might be reading this I am looking for Internet Pen Pals to hook on to students of my schools, a friendship which will help in giving them dignity. Thank you Anthony Zammit
