Housing in Issan

Hello,
Currently still living in U.S.  My Thai wife and I plan to retire soon and move to Sisaket.  We have the land.  Looking for a reputable builder.  If anyone has a recommendation, or any advice or suggestions, this would be much appreciated.

Re: Housing in Issan

I can not recommend one but I can recommend you to be there when it is build. Be there EVERY day and check all the work that is done. Buy all the materials your self, so you exactly know what quality is used.

Building a Thai house in Thailand is cheap and one of the reasons is that there are cheap materials used that do not last long. Building a house by western standards because double of the price.

Currently I am renting a brand new house (8 months old now) and it is full of problems, bad construction and cheap materials. And it is build by and big & "respectful" real-estate company.
