Cost of living in Djibouti

Hi everybody,

It would be very useful to talk about the cost of living in Djibouti.

How much does it cost to live in Djibouti?
> accommodation prices
> public transportation fares (taxi, bus etc ...)
> food prices(per month, how much does it cost you?)
> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)
> eduction prices (if you need to pay)
> energy prices (oil, electricity)
> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)
> prices of a good menu in a traditional restaurant
> prices of a beer and or a coffee in a regular pub
> price of the cinema

Do not hesitate to add items to this list!

Thanks in advance for your participation!!

Re: Cost of living in Djibouti

I have been in Djibouti 6 months on 2010

How much does it cost to live in Djibouti?
> accommodation prices
In the central you can get a small furnished flat for around 700-1000 USD/month PS: the electricity and the water cost too much if you have AC you can pay around 400-500 USD for the electricity
> public transportation fares (taxi, bus etc ...)
its easy to walk all around the city , but taxis not too expentive (3-5 USD for all around the city central) If you can be agree to fit your self  in a minibus you need to pay less than half dolar
> food prices(per month, how much does it cost you?)

ok in a good restaurant you can pay around 10 USD for a good meal( <ps:thr is not too much good restaurants)

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)
> eduction prices (if you need to pay)
> energy prices (oil, electricity)
it was 1 USD/liter for oil , and for the electricity you can prefer to use candles smile)
> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)
> prices of a good menu in a traditional restaurant
5 to 20 USD
> prices of a beer and or a coffee in a regular pub
In all bars and restaurants the price of all drinks are fixed to 1000 Dbf ( 5.5 USD) it mean you can take a JB or a beer for the same price smile
