Tips from expats in Florida

Hi all,

everyone can now participate to the Florida business directory!

You can recommend a professional and indicate you appreciate its services.

> A plumber did a great job with your water leak?

> A restaurant always welcomes you warmly?

> A real estate agent helped you to find your dream home in Florida?

Come on: share your insider info and tips on local businesses.

What do you think of that new feature?

Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions,

Julien

My blog (globalsquatter.wordpress.com) details my daily life as a retiree and praises local businesses that make my retirement an enjoyable experience.

Re: Tips from expats in Florida

I'd recommend that people check out consumer reviews at yelp.com, or similar websites (which I cannot think of any at this moment). The Yelp website has a much wider client base and presently focuses on major cities in the U.S., Canada, France and the UK. Orlando and other cities in Florida is one of them.

Given that our own opinions are humanly biased, the conflict of interest issue is likely to come up. For example, if I keep endorsing a particular business, maybe because I'm a business partner or my family owns it? If I write repeatedly about my bad experience at a certain restaurant, is it because I want to drive my business rival out of business?

Moreover, Expat members can voice their positive/negative experience and make referrals at Yelp also.
