I have some questions regarding international pet transportation. Although the information on the web is extensive, I would love to hear your personal stories and experiences.
I am relocating to Uzbekistan for a year, and would love to bring my loyal, lovable cat Norman. Now, Norman is quite a big boy and does not meet the requirements of a "carry on." (18 lb. Main Coon cat, slightly overweight, or "fluffy" as he prefers.) He has gotten the clear from the vet, but I am having extremely mixed feelings about subjecting him to 20+ hours of air travel underneath the aircraft. He has gone on lengthy trips in a car, and I witnessed no adverse reactions. He adjusted excedingly well....way better than myself.
I would love to hear your own personal stories about moving with your furry friends. Pros and cons. Did the animals adjust to international relocation well? And, what are the rules/regulations of bringing animals into Uzbekistan? I worry that he will become sick or even worse from the climate change..the water..the trip itself. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys/gals!
