New: Bolivia business directory

Hi,

there is something new on Expat.com!

We designed a new section dedicated to the companies of Bolivia and their services: the Bolivia business directory.

Professionals can now present their activity on Expat.com. We offer them two ways of doing it :

> a simple listing, with phone number and address. For free.

> a "premium" listing with a logo, description + a dedicated page with a complete description of their services and products (with pictures, localization on a map). For a reasonable price per year, payable online.

We will now be able to respond to companies' demands in terms of visibility on https://www.expat.com. We also hope this will meet your expectations since you will have access to a list of all the companies offering products and services to expatriates in Bolivia.

Do you think that section is a good idea?

Please do not hesitate to post your thoughts and comments!

Thanks,

Julien

In a word, no. I think it is a great idea but experience tells me that it will not fly. Here is my experience.
I run a medium-traffic web site called NicaLiving.com. Well over 100,000 page views per month and probably 20,000 posts. I created a business directory a few years ago, bi-lingual, with free listings for all. It just never reached critical mass.

My conclusion is that word-of-mouth, not on-line ads, is how information about businesses gets distributed. As much as I personally like the idea, I don't think Latin America is ready for it.

thanks for your feedback

what can I say ? We'll try to do it ... our way, let's see if it works ;)

have a good day,

Julien
