Hi WOOPA,
Welcome to Expat.com!
I created a new topic as from your post on the Bulgaria forum.
If its a pension payed by Denmark you will be taxed in Denmark for it, not in Bulgaria.
And yes you can open a bank account here in Bulgaria in any of the larger currency's
Check whether your source country has a duel taxation agreement. If it does you can nominate the country to pay tax in (either the source country or the country you now reside). I was also advised (when I inquired just over a year ago) on this Forum about tax & pensions that Bulgaria does NOT tax pensions as they are exempt. Everything else is flat rate level tax 10%. As I said that was what I was advised so clarify if this is correct
1) yes you can open a account in euro in every bank
2) paying tax on your pension , depends on fiscal agreement between bulgaria and your country against double taxation
