EXCHANGING INDIAN DRIVER'S LICENSE TO GET POLISH DRIVING LICENSE

Hi Abhishek,

Thanks a lot for your elaborate post on driver's license exchange in Poland!
I am living in Czestochowa and I applied for my Indian Driver's lic exchange at Urzad Miasta here in April-2015. But the officers there told me that they will first authenticate my DL before I start the formalities (like paying fees and PKK generation) and till now they are authenticating, I guess!
Every 2-3 months they send letter that they are still trying to contact with Indian officials to get the Authentication process done but not getting any reply!
From your post it appears that "authentication" process can be done even after I take the exam?! Am I right?
Do you have any more information on this?

as I mentioned, go to embassy and get the letter that your indian license is a valid one..
on indian embassy website, there is information about this.. they take 80PLN for this work..
Show that letter in your urzad..  (but that letter is in english.. so just make sure, that urzad miasta guys understand this that this letter is sufficient proof and in other cities this procedure is followed.. )

Now I m living in Poland.
Is the theory test still valid.
I wrote theory in English language in germany.

If you have a full driving license from Germany, it will be valid in Poland as both countries are in the EU. I am nearly 100% sure that you can not transfer half of the test over to another country. So sadly you will need to start again.

You will need to retake the driving test, that comes in 2 parts. Written & Driving, you will need to contact a local driving school in your area.

Hello ... Does Residencepermit of poland is mandatory for applying the polish driving lisence... i have residence permit from Italy and i am here hust for 4 months in poland

Hi. Residence permit is not necessary as such. Only thing required is a valid Visa. I just applied for a license last week and i do not hold a residence card yet. Just the Visa and address proof (Zameldowania) should work. Cheers!

Yes you could buy a CD from W.O.R.D which is available in english but not online

It isnt any retail chain. W.O.R.D is nothing but the transport office where you register for a theory or practical test for Driving license  and answer the same.

No, you need to appear for theory exam. However you won't be required to appear for physical exam

I have TRP so zameldowania is necessary in my case.

I have house agreement until August 28.
Can I start process .I applied for visa extension, 4 months will take to get it..

I passed the theory exam.i already submitted my Indian lisence copy,photo,house agreement,letter from India embassy and translate.
Let me know how many days I want to wait for polish DL.

7 - 10 days . Meanwhile you can keep checking the status of your license online at infor-car.pl. Once the status changes to "Ready" you could go and collect it .

I have a 4 year French residence permit.
And I want to get European driving licence. It is expensive and hard to get a French license.
Currently I am having my Indian license and International driving permit.
Is it possible to get a Polish license if I get the residential proof in Poland ?
Do I need anything else ?
And do I have to sit for theoretical paper ?
Please suggest me because it will make things easier for me.

Hey mate !
Basically you need Polish residence permit, and either enrolled in a University here or be employed.  In this case you could exchanged your Indian DL with Polish DL. The whole procedure costs around 400zl including your travel to Indian embassy in Warsaw.
Yes you need to pass only the theory test. Get a CD in English and learn the basics and you should be good to ace it. Good luck !

I recently read your information about indian licence exchange. I have tried this before. But it won't work.. when i approached the government office which you mention, they said that the certificate from indian embassy is not enough to get a pkk number. The procedure they said is, very strange.
Inorder to confirm the licence genuinity, they will first send a copy of my license to my local police station. Without getting any confirmation back, they can hardly do the next.
I am living in warsaw. If u have any idea or advice to 'what i have to next?'. Plz reply me ASAP.

Hi, I don't agree with you. I exchanged my license few months back. I got a letter from Indian embassy and it was fine to get the pkk number. I already have my polish license and driving here.

Is there need a Resindence adress ?  If some one not have the adress then where he could arrange it that is also called zabaldwania
