Permit to foreigner by buying property/ land

Hello all,

Buying the property (house/ land) in Fiji as a foreigner who's not living there yet, which permit will it be granted to the buyer? Assured Income permit or the Investor permit?
How's the difference between them?
Also, after buying the property, can it be rented out as well?

As I have read some articles, is that true that the properties in Suva, Nadi, etc. in Fiji, are forbidden to be purchased by foreigner now due to the new rule from the government?

Thanks,
GN

hi,

the new rule is that foreigner can't buy residential zoned properties inside city and town boundaries. exception is: when those lots have a building which has a current hotel license.
when you buy a vacant residential property somewhere else you have 2 years to build a residence worth minimum of F$ 250.000. otherwise high penalities are applied.

but you dont have to buy, it might be worth a thought to lease longterm native land, depending on your project.

anyway, buying property has nothing to do with your permit. lot's of people have bought and travel in and out with a visitors permit.
permit on assured income has a minimum  age and amount limit. visit immigration website for details.
same as for investers permit. also worth is a visit to investfiji's website

good luck.
