Indigenous People of Ojochal

I have been finding some pieces of old indigenous pottery on our property. I haven't had much luck in finding information about the indigenous people of this area. Any out there able to educate me a bit please?

You may want to contact Jack Ewing who is the owner of Hacienda Baru and is a true conservationist, naturalist and a wealth of information of this area. If he can't help you, he will direct you elsewhere.

Chandra,

See Brunca, Boruca, and History of the Spanish invasion of South and Central CR. Many tribal coastal folks ran into the Talamancas to escape the Spanish brutality around 1505-1535. Particularly, sub-groups of the Diquis, established small communities in the Talamanca foothills, and some remain in the higher climes, still. Others still inhabitable the mountains south of Ojochal. My partner lived in Ojochal for Many years.

Thank you, what is the best way to reach him?

Through his website, but I don't think they like the link actually posted here.

Brunca/Boruca is a tribe of indigenous Costa
Rican people. Google the name to find info.
