Making phone calls in Senegal

Hi,

When settling in Senegal, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Senegal?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Dear Maximilien,

Hope you're fine! My english is not fair but I'll try to help you. i's in Dakar since 2008. If you need to call dn't worry you have 3 mobile operators:
-Orange phone number starts with 77 xxx xx xx
- Tigo phone number starts with 76 xxx xx xx
- Expresso phone number starts with 70 xxx xx xx
With 500F CFA - 1000F CFA  ( 0,87 USD - 1,74 USD)you can have a SIM card

You can got a sim card everywhere at your arrival in Dakar in airport or in a shop or you can go if you want to have an answer to all your questions to find some near place which your favourite mobile operator sells.

For landline, you need to go to Orange Shop. For first payment to subscribe it you will need 45 000F CFA (78,30 USD). With 20 000F CFA -  34,80 USD /month you can got internet 2Megabits and landline . you have 2 choices : prepaid or postpaid. I advice to choose prepaid option. If you want to call with any mobile or fixed operator you need to buy credit card in a shop. You can find it everywhere.
Hope I helped you.
