Volunteering in Denmark

Volunteering has become very common in the recent years, and it will certainly be a good way to meet other people, get some tips about Danish society, make friends.

There are different possibilities to be involved in volunteering jobs and interest groups.

This is a regular job site within volunteering jobs. Actually, many paid jobs have been cut away due to the authorities lack of money in the latest years, and the jobs are now replaced by volunteers.

Spread over the whole country, you'll find a volunteering centre (Frivilligcenter). Each of them offers different things as it is up to people themselves to start an activity or a group. Many of them have a conversation group in English. If they don't have a lesson cafe themselves for Danish learners, they can probably tell you where you can find one. Most of the activities take place in the daytime, why most of the participants are pensioners of any age.

Many of the charity organisations run second hand shops. I think every little town with respect for itself has a shop of that kind as it for many reasons have become very popular to buy second hand things. Such shops are always very grateful to get more shop assistants.
