As of the moment, we learned from Susan, Vilca drivers have to go to the larger town of Malacatos, Ecuador -- which is 15 minutes away -- to gas up their vehicles.

Maybe she was trying to say that a service station would be a good opportunity. The question is, why is there not one already there? I would think by now someone would have thought the same.
Perhaps there is a reason none exist at this point. Someone familiar with, or living in the area could probably answer this question.?
