Visa to uk for thai girlfriend

Been refused visa even with me having pledged paying for everything have money to show in the bank she only wants a tourist visa for holiday. Any ideas please

Among the most important considerations which you need to keep in mind when applying a UK visitor visa for your Thai girlfriend are the circumstances of your girlfriend in Thailand and your relationship with each other.

Your girlfriend will have a better chance obtaining the visa if she has a decent and stable job in Thailand. This is regardless of her income as long as the job doesn't involve prostitution, drugs or other illegal means of livelihood.

Aside from having a good job, it would also help if she has assets and properties in Thailand, savings account and dependents in Thailand. Assets can be in the form of cars, buildings or a piece of land. Her parents and children are considered dependents. These are her ties to Thailand which are the reasons she's coming back after her allowed duration of visit in the UK.

Should your girlfriend fail to meet the above points as she relies on UK visitor visa sponsorship, it's a prerequisite to clearly establish your on-going genuine relationship. You can do this by providing as much pieces of evidence you can to show your relationship. These include photos together, email exchanges, chat transcripts, money transfer receipts, boarding pass among others. The longer you have known each other, the more convincing your relationship would appear.

Aside from that you need to write a letter detailing how did your relationship start and the highlights of your relationship. As the UK visit visa sponsor, you need to prove your financial capacity to support your girlfriend once she gets to the UK. In this case you would need to provide bank statements; at least 3 pay slips, House Title deed or Mortgage Agreement and photos of your house. This is apart from the sponsorship letter which confirms your desire to sponsor her stay in the UK.

Once everything is prepared, the visa application is submitted to VFS. It would take them 2 or 3 working days to process the visa application. If interview is required, the processing time would expectedly take longer. Your girlfriend is allowed to stay in the UK for 6 months if she gets the visa.

Remember that it's easier doing a new visa application than remedying a refused UK visitor visa application. So when you do the visa application the first time, it's just prudent to give your best shot. Consulting with UK visa professionals is always advised.

Thanks for the info I thought I had supplied enough info but obviously not so you think it's easier to reaply rather than appeal. She is not actually a girlfriend the family are friends whom i have stayed with a number of times. Would it work better if I stated she was my girlfriend.

You did not specify the reason why the visa was denied, If your thai friend UK visa is denied the British Embassy will provide an explanation letter stating the reasons, and this will guide you.

There are 3 points as explained previously they will consider:
1- your thai friend situation in Thailand : stable employment, asset, bank account, properties, saving, etc....
2- your relationships, needs to be clear, and need to bring lot of proofs,... how long do you know each others, from where, did you support her in thailand, do you send her money on regular basis, photos, etc....
3- your situation in UK : financial status, accommodation, own property or not, loan, mortgage, etc....

She need some independance and point 1 is important as if something happen abroad she will be without money, unless she have enough money in her back account to support herself, or you will have to consider it.

The motivation must be clear, if holidays, you should specify clear travel itinerary, what she will do, where she will go, etc...

If she described herself as unemployed and have stated that she is wholly financially dependent upon you (her  sponsor ), you will have to provide evidence of this regular support ( if you never send her money in Thailand and support her this can be a problem ).

she needs to have money in thailand, a job, a steady salary and a reason to come back to Thailand. i.e. houses, land, cars, payments, condos etc.
