No ... Its not allowed.
Look if you have driving license of any country where left hand drive then you get Car on rent.
But if you have driving license of a country where right hand drive then you are not allowed to drive in that country even you have International license.

I think you would have to ask the rental places (Touranco in Juffair were very helpful to us). They should know the ins and outs of this!
I have a UK license, and am currently on a visit visa, and was able to rent a car on that for a short while. I have been informed that once I have my CPR I have to go and get a Bahrain license!

When you have a working visa you can't drive on a foreign license .
You can drive if you're on a visit or tourist visa .
No issues , just head to any car rental with your "International Driving License"
