Driving in El Salvador

What do you think of the way people drive in El Salvador? How different is it from your home country?

Respecting the road safety rules, driving etiquette such as general courtesy, speed excess… what are the characteristics of the driving style in El Salvador?

Share with us the difficulties one may face when driving in El Salvador: peak hours, road conditions, accident, etc. and your advice to drive safely in the country.

I moved there in 1994,  it has changed  as more cars coming in less inexperienced drivers but for riding motorcycles all that time lots more respect  but overall latinos are not that good of drivers, machisimo, less educated and those with cars have a superiority complex the 'better then the' and those that dont have a car
gotta be careful especially at night more drunks and many now on pills
