Tech Giants Pouring Billions Into the Quest For Immortality

Silicon Valley billionaires are investing big bucks into the quest for "man's most elusive dream":  immortality.

Author-philosopher Robert Ringer's blog relates that co-founders of Google and PayPal are putting "vast amounts" into life-extension research.

PayPal co-founder Paul Thiel has invested 35-million with the Methuselah Foundation, whose focus is discovering drugs that cure seven types of age-related damage so as to prevent the human body from wearing out.

That, however, pales in comparison to Google's plan to invest billions in partnership with pharmaceutical giant AbbVie to create a drug that mimicks foxo3, a gene associated with a long life-span.
