Tourist to business visa

Hello there

This is my first time doing this so its all new to me. I moved from England on February 17th. Now I have found an employer to hire me and I am just need to get a business visa. I think I have less than a month left on my tourist visa and so was wondering what I need, how long it will take and any other things that I need to think about.

Any helps is much appreciated

Cam on :D

I'm helping my Filipino friend to get a working visa here. It's a one year multiple entry visa.

So, here are some of my "experiences":
- You better find a visa agency to help you. It saves time and hassle free.
- As far as I know, you can't transfer your visa directly from tourist to working (while you are in Vietnam).

So what you need to do is:
- Get out of Vietnam (go to Laos for example).

In the time you stay outside of Vietnam, your employer (together with visa agency) need to submit some documents to Department of Immigration (DoI), include:

1.    Copy of Business Certificate (notarized)
2.    List of Council members (notarized)
3.    Seal register certificate (notarized)
4.    Tax identification number certificate (notarized)
5.    Application of Immigration Procedure  (sample)
6.    Official Letter send to Immigration Office (sample)
7.    Application to introduce seal and signature of Company Leader (sample)
8.    Two introduction letters (sample)
9.    Two-way airplane tickets
10.     Photocopy of passport
11.     Working schedule (sample)

All the (notarized) documents just need to submit if they haveN'T processed working visa for someone (foreigner) before.
The (9) two-way airplane tickets maybe not necessary for you.
The (sample)s, visa agency will provide, your employer just need to sign and seal.

Normally, it will take 7-10 working days to process,
then if it will be successful, the DoI will issue 2 Official Letters,
one send to your employer
one send to Vietnam embassy abroad (i.e: Vietnam embassy in Laos)

Then you can bring your passport, with passport size photo,
go to Vietnam embassy, fill up declaration form, then get your visa stamped,
then you can go back to Vietnam.

I do have few forms, I can send you if you want to have a look.

As I contacted with one visa agency here in HCMc.
Their fee is $400 if client already have "employer"
$530 if they will help client to find an "employer".
It's not included $135 you need to pay at Vietnam embassy to get the visa.

The other agencies may offer different prices.

Others who understand/know better about visa, please correct me if anything need to be corrected.

Reason : avoid posting your personal details pls

From what information I found online you cannot change a tourist visa to any other kind of visa or permit.
That was as of March 2015.

I suggest you do a Google search as I did so you can confirm this.
