Struggling to put all the pieces together with visas and permits, help?

I recently travelled to South Africa for one month and now I want more ! That's the simplest way to put it. I had a life changing experience. I do a lot of NGO work at home with people with disabilities so I am interested in doing similar work there. Thankfully I made a lot of connections while I was there and I have a small network of people here that are from SA and are helping me lots but I'm still struggling to put all the pieces together particularly with visas and permits. Any help would be great!

Hi there, it's quite a strenuous  procedure for the visa. Have you already  applied?

Hi there,

there are so many different kind of Visas. Doch you plan to work there or what would you like to do? I got help from an Immigration company. I couldn't manage to do the application by my own. But my company paid for the Visa.

Best regards

Bettina

yes i would love to work ,but how can i get in to your company also ,i am 19 and i wanna work and get the visa also please help ...
thanks..

Hi,

it is really difficult to find a company who will employe you and assist with the Visa. Most of the companies won't. To get a work permit you need work to get work you mostly need a work permit. I work in the tourism industry and they just hired me because they were seeking for German native speakers and I have a lot of experience. I dont know your educational level or your background. But the easiest way is to apply at a call center. They employ foreigners because of there language skills. Other jobs where your language skills arent needed are hardly to get. There are enough locals who are seeking for work. Or you are a specialist in your field and your job is required in South Africa. But it doesnt make sense to apply for a Visa without a job offer because I am almost sure you wont get it approved. If you just would like to stay for a couple of month for studies or whatever it is a different case.

Best regards

Bettina

Thanks for input guys :)
After emailing with an immigration lawyer and calling the Consulate in Toronto CAN, I have figured out that the best permit (and probably easiest) is a volunteer permit which can be valid for up to 3 years! 3 years is great. I don't want to just go for a few months. Im hoping that through that, I will make lots of connections and eventually be able to come home and then apply for a work permit. But for now, volunteer is all it is.
I do have to fly to Toronto and apply in person about 1 month before I wish to leave and then once approved, I can book flights.
They recommend to not book any flights until you get the approved documents.
Every day i find out new information and my plans change haha.

It is the same here. I am still waiting for my Visa. I can only book the flight if my Visa has been approved. Where would you like to live?  I mean where in South Africa?

Hi, I can try and get you in with one of my family members who also work with disability people. That is in Worcester, Western cape
Pieter

The easiest route for you would probably a visitor visa with a work endorsement.

I am working but I don't have a work permit now i would like to apply but most of the time i try to apply I don't succeed what should i do?

Hi guys please I need help with visa and permit.my email is ***.thanks
