I too have been selected as specialist in Microbiology at HMG.I think our plight is same and even I ma apprehensive about job and lifestyle there. Am from Davangere, Karnataka, India.

I would suggest you to go through the various threads on the forum to clear your doubts and I bet most of them would be cleared and if still you have some doubts, do not hesitate to shoot your queries here.
Just a heads up, it's not as bad as the media portrays it in the outer world

Attestation process takes 2-3 weeks max. Visa processing takes another 2-3 weeks approx.
