Good example, ASEAN countries people don't need to pay any fees for tourist or business visa but other countries do and different price too. Europe has Euro and Thailand is member of ASEAN.

Yes all ASEAN nationalities apply tourist or business visa free at all Thai embassies overseas.

Next year AEC kicks in and certain trade fields are open to ASEAN countries and free import duties for more products.

ASEAN nationalities can work in any ASEAN countries easily next year.

Perhaps there could be a single currency but still long way to go.

Yes, that is why I asked if OP was referring to all ASEAN countries. I know some do not have bilateral agreements and Thai citzens certainly need a visa for some!

Perhaps OP was thinking of Visa exempt entries as opposed to tourist visas?
