Street signs

Don't rely too much on the street names. Street naming is only just being implemented in some areas in Accra and people are yet to come to grips with it. In Ghana, the easiest way to get around is to know the name of the suburb you are going, e.g. Dzorwulu, Abeka, Odorkor, Labone, etc. etc. Once in the suburb ask for any landmark or a well known feature, such as school, disco, stadium, market etc etc. near the place you are going and you'll surely get there. Don't be afraid to ask the next person you meet on the way if you can't easily locate the place, Ghanaians are ever ready to help. Drivers are also good at directing people to their destinations.
