Hi,
I am working in a company and wife is working in a private hospital in Muscat. Both of us are not eligible for family visa(salary is less than 600 OMR). We are expecting a baby on November 2015. As both of us are not having family visa and staying together, is there any option to get visa for our baby? If yes, please explain.

Hi jerrinjoy,

Given your situation, the only way you can get a visa for your child that is due, is by requesting your employer to consent to your request for sponsorship. Rarely can a mother act as the child's sponsor. But that is also possible on special circumstances.

By yourselves you can do nothing. You must approach either your employer, or your wife's employer and make a personal request.

By sponsoring a child both your employers would lose nothing as long as you take care of all the costs involved like medical, annual airfare, et al.
